So, you ask, "What is" the Great Lake Chapter? A better question is "Who is" the Great Lake Chapter? The Great Lakes Chapter is the largest chapter of all the ASHI® chapters, made up of individual, professional home inspectors, all of whom are members or candidates in ASHI®. Our motto is "Education Will Never Be as Expensive as Ignorance", therefore; our primary purpose is to provide education for inspectors through classroom and hands on training. Our educational seminars often feature nationally recognized experts in topics relevant to our industry, a distinct advantage of belonging to a large, well established chapter. We meet quarterly at various locations across the Great Lakes States, so you have the opportunity to attend at least one or two of these seminars annually within a reasonable driving distance.
Our members have varied backgrounds in many different professions and trades, and are friendly, open, and easy to get to know. Our quarterly newsletter, The LAKER, contains technical articles and relevant information about the chapter, the home inspection industry, and legislative issues. Our chapter website, www.greatinspectors.org, is one of the best in the business and you can link your own website to the GLC’s site for even greater exposure. Finally, you will have the distinction and name recognition that membership in these organizations bestows on its members and is recognized by the public, realtors, attorneys, mortgage lenders and everyone else involved in the home buying, selling and real estate industry.
